Avonturia de Vogelkelder is the largest and most adventurous pet store in the BeNeLux. With a wide range of pet supplies, a range of exotic animals and a unique experience for our visitors, we are known for our excellent service and expertise. Our store is a place where customers find inspiration, get advice and discover a wide range of animals and products. In addition to the extensive shopping experience Avonturia also a mini-zoo Mappa Mundia, a wonderful world where young and old can explore with a world map in hand. There is an attractive restaurant for our visitors who want to take a break from their experiences Avonturia's Kitchen where you can enjoy 'All over the World' dishes.
In addition to the physical store Avonturia about an extensive webshop with more than 15.000 products! There is also the Avonturia B2B, which supplies products to retailers and distributors at home and abroad. The range is very diverse and contains various brands, including our own brand Back Zoo Nature. We send our products all over the world from our wholesaler in The Hague.

What does your working day look like?
In our growing Fish World, no two days are the same. With your knowledge and passion for fish, providing our customers with accurate and tailored advice is one of your main responsibilities. Thanks in part to you, every customer leaves with a big smile. One of your priorities is the daily care of the fish; you ensure they have the right food and the right living conditions. Throughout the day, you'll be busy adjusting, presenting, and decorating the shelves and aquariums. In other words, you ensure the department looks presentable 24/7. You'll ensure current prices and special offers, create communication materials for the department, and restock the shelves. Taking orders and working the cash register are also part of your responsibilities. You don't like sitting still and are flexible in switching between different tasks.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who:
- Has knowledge and experience with fishing.
- Has work experience in retail in the pet industry.
- Customer-friendly and enthusiastic.
- Has good communication skills.
- Able to work well in a team and take responsibility independently.
- Organised and accurate, able to maintain an overview, even in busy situations.
- Available between 32 and 40 hours per week and flexibility on weekends is required.
- Has an excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
