About Avonturia
Avonturia de Vogelkelder is the largest and most adventurous pet store in the BeNeLux. With a wide range of pet supplies, a range of exotic animals and a unique experience for our visitors, we are known for our excellent service and expertise. Our store is a place where customers find inspiration, get advice and discover a wide range of animals and products. In addition to the extensive shopping experience Avonturia also a mini-zoo Mappa Mundia, a wonderful world where young and old can explore with a world map in hand. There is an attractive restaurant for our visitors who want to take a break from their experiences Avonturia's Kitchen where you can enjoy 'All over the World' dishes.
In addition to the physical store Avonturia about an extensive webshop with more than 15.000 products! There is also the Avonturia B2B, which supplies products to retailers and distributors at home and abroad. The range is very diverse and contains various brands, including our own brand Back Zoo Nature. We send our products all over the world from our wholesaler in The Hague.

What does your working day look like?
For our bird world we are looking for a new team member who is ready for a new challenge! Are you looking for a challenging job with great colleagues and do you enjoy answering all kinds of questions from bird lovers? Then we are looking for you!
No day is the same in our growing bird world. With your knowledge and passion for birds, giving the right advice to our customers is one of the main tasks. Your advice ensures that everyone leaves the store with a big smile. One of the priorities is the daily care of the birds in the department. You provide the right food and the right living conditions every day. During the day you are creatively involved in adjusting, presenting and decorating the shelves and cages. In other words: you make the department look representative 24/7. You will also be concerned with current prices and offers, creating communication material for the department and stocking the shelves. Making orders and doing cash register work is also part of your duties.
You do not like to sit still and are flexible in switching between different activities. Together with your team you are the face of the bird world Avonturia and you are ready every day to provide every customer with the right advice.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who:
- Has knowledge and experience with birds (housing, behaviour and nutrition)
- Has work experience in retail in the pet industry.
- Customer-friendly and enthusiastic.
- Has good communication skills.
- Able to work well in a team and take responsibility independently.
- Organised and accurate, able to maintain an overview, even in busy situations.
- Available between 32 and 40 hours per week and flexibility on weekends is required.
- Has an excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
