Sex & Reproduction

It's hard to tell a difference between the males and females, the best thing to do is look at the build of the animals. Men are slimmer and have an almost straight back. The women are slightly thicker (pear shape) and slightly larger. The males will start to lure a female when they are sexually mature. They do this by whistling, which sounds like chirping. When the female answers its call, a mating will take place in which she will deposit about 10 eggs on a leaf. The male will take care of the eggs and moisten them regularly. Once the eggs hatch, the tadpoles will crawl onto the male's back and he will release it into a pool.
